We, the family of Lawrence Burman, regret to announce his passing on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at the Halifax Infirmary in Halifax, N. S.
Born April 30, 1947, in St. Anne de Beaupre, he was a son of the late Alfred and Carmen (Tourville) Burman.
Lawrence was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces and retired from Parks Canada, where he worked at the Fortress of Louisbourg.
He is survived by his son, Daniel (Sarah) Burman, Coxheath; sisters, Lucie (Denis), Stella (Roch) and Claire (Alain) Burman, all of Quebec and Marie (Chris) Deckert, Ont.; brothers, Michael, Steven, Desmond (Ginette) and Leo (Danielle) Burman, also all of Quebec; grandchildren, Luke, Marc and Zoe Burman, Coxheath; sister-in-law, Diane Burman, Quebec, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Lawrence now accompanies his parents, his sister Winnie and his brother Paul.
Lawrence will always be remembered for how generous he was with his time, his laid back nature, his smile, and his laugh. He was always there to lend a helping hand, and was a truly dedicated Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, and friend. Lawrence would be seen along side of his son on numerous father /son projects, attending the rink for hockey for his three grandchildren, and travelling long distances to spend time with family in other provinces. Children adore him, we all love him dearly, and he has touched the hearts of many.

Lawrence était un membre des Forces armées canadiennes et à la retraite de Parcs Canada, où il a travaillé à la Forteresse de Louisbourg.
Il laisse dans le deuil son fils, Daniel (Sarah) Burman, de Coxheath; ses sœurs Lucie (Denis), Stella (Roch) et Claire (Alain) Burman, tous du Québec et Marie (Chris) Deckert, Ont.; ses frères Michael, Stephen, Desmond (Ginette) et Leo (Danielle) Burman, également tous du Québec; ses petits-enfants, Luc, Marc et Zoe Burman, de Coxheath; sa belle-sœur Diane Burman du Québec, ainsi que de nombreux neveux et nièces.
Lawrence accompagne maintenant ses parents, sa soeur Winnie et son frère Paul.
On se souviendra toujours de la façon dont il était généreux avec son temps, de sa nature décontractée, de son sourire et de son rire. Il était toujours là pour donner un coup de main, il était un papa vraiment dévoué, un grand-père, un frère, un oncle et un ami. On le voyait aux côtés de son fils réalisant de nombreux projets père/fils, à la patinoire pour voir jouer ses trois petits-enfants, parcourant de longues distances pour passer du temps avec la famille dans d'autres provinces. Les enfants l'adorent, nous l'aimons tous tendrement, et il a touché le cœur de beaucoup.
